How My Garden Grows

Our garden at month #2
This is our first attempt at gardening and I don't think I'm doing too bad. At least I have something growing. Now to wait and see if we're able to eat anything.
Next year I will do things a bit differently and label what I plant.
I know for sure I have carrots, tomatoes and two types of lettuce. I think there might be some radishes and eggplant in there too.
I got a little curious about what was going on under the scenes and did this...
Carrot
Aint he a cute little thing?

Thinking Thrifty

Do you ever get tired of wanting more? I know I sure do. In today's world we are constantly bombarded with commercials, magazines, etc that are cramming the "bigger is better" philosophy down our throats.
Society makes you think you're not gonna be happy without the newest and latest thingamabob.
My husband and I have been talking over ways to downsize and make our lives a little simpler.
Here's our plan:
NO MORE CABLE. I know, I know, how are we ever going to survive?
I found a cheaper plan for our internet and phone service which will save us quite a bit of money each month on that alone. For TV, we will use Netflix.
GARDENING. My husband built a square foot garden for me this year, and I'm very excited about watching all the little whatevers pop up. I say that because when my daughter and I planted the seeds, we forgot to mark what was in each little square. Now it's a guessing game.
COUPONING! My newest and latest obsession. If you've seen the coupon show, then you either think this idea is great or those people are crazy.  I'm doing it on a much smaller scale. I'm only interested in getting the things we need for as little $$ as possible. We've managed to save quite a bit. I've organized a binder and hope to get better at it as time goes on.
So, that's it for starters. With those three things we will be able to downsize a few of our expenses and save some of that hard earned money!
