Change, although sometimes necessary, is always difficult. Whether you are trying to break a bad habit or start a good one, change in any form can throw you for a loop.
We are experiencing some change of our own tonight. It's the first step we took in downsizing our budget...no cable television. *sigh*
It's turned out to be harder than I expected. I knew we watched too much TV, but I never REALLY knew how much it controlled and occupied our lives. As the cable guy drove away with our equipment, the kids and I sat in the living room staring at our fuzzy screened TV, thinking we must be in the twilight zone.
We weren't happy campers to say the least.
Then something occurred to me. Focus on the reasons we made this decision in the first place.
We are saving money, and lots of it, by not paying for television!
We will be together more as a family since nobody can retreat to their rooms and hideout for hours = priceless!
This change is gonna be what I make of it. I can embrace this as a blessing, or I can mope around because I'm missing something on Food Network.
I've made up my mind to think positive. Yes, it's going to be hard, but it's going to be worth it in the long run.
